This is a spin off of the Atheism thread, except this one is going out to all the religious people.

I want to know why you believe in your particular religion.
Do your parents follow the same religion as you? Have you studied any other religions? How do you feel about other religions? Do you think yours is the 'right' religion?

I know it probably wont happen, but can we at least try to keep the ignorant comments to a minimum.

its teachings just really appeal to me,or maybe i just dont know anything else since i was raised that way...but then i also see what religion makes people do through wrongful practice or misunderstanding



overall...most religions are the same...be a good human being...minor tweaks on what you cant eat, drink.

but really minor differences...in the end, what difference does it make to your day to day actions,or decisions you'll make whether jesus was the son of god or a profit?..

It's not really 'scared' people who believe in religions.

Honestly...there really is nothing WRONG with having beliefs. Provided that you're not trying to force them onto other people. You have to respect the fact that not everyone will think the same as you. It doesn't make you smarter or dumber. Just different.

well the ones who are deeply religious are very scared..to them, its like if they dont abide by their "beliefs" something horrible will happen to them..they just use religion to feel better about their actions in their everyday life..but you're right charlie brown..nothing is wrong with having beliefs..but like you said, dont force them on others..and if you are going to try and "prove" a point..make sure you have conclusive evidence to back you up..if not.... STFU

Raised as a Christian in the Apostolic faith. I want to learn about other religions I thought that the Muslim faith is interesting when I took a course on it last month.

i never said believing in religion makes one stupid. I cant prove anything in terms of what is right or wrong etc. That is why i dont go around acting like what I believe in is FACT. I dont believe in any religions because no one has yet to prove why any of them is RIGHT
