Best Colleges/Universities ?

Im looking into colleges and universities and what not.

Does anybody know the top 20 colleges and the top 20 uni's in Ontario ?
Or even British Columbia ?

And Im not talking about Devry, or CDI or anything, Im talking like.. U of T, George Brown and such ?

I have the pre-requisites to enter a college only, but Im probably gonna upgrade to University, since I was unaware that unless I had University level courses, I couldnt apply to a university. I always thought it was just the "hardness" of the course. I had no clue it had anything to do with your acceptance.

I just want to get a degree, preferbly in education because I want to move to Hong Kong (Or Japan/China) and teach English. But my mom's co-worker is leaving to Japan very soon, and he said all you need is a Degree, in almost anything. So I mean, I want a degree, but I'd rather it be related to what Im doing.

Didn't they tell you in like gr.9 if you don't switch to academic courses that you can't apply to university. And im just curious how long do you have to go to college to transfer to university?

Before symbol comes in here, let me tell you that all universities have their have their specializations. York has a good faculty of education, but the best university depends on which program you want to do. There are rankings by Macleans but, some universities have rejected them due to what the ranking system was based on.

York would be a good choice for you in that case, the education program there is concurrent meaning that you have guaranteed admission into teachers college unless you mess up during your undergrad.

York would also be a good choice since some of other more academically focused universities might be a bit of a rude shock coming from college or college focused courses in high school.

Your correct in that most college transfer programs are two years long.

That said Canada is home to many good institutions that have great reputations for all faculties. Queens University, Dalhousie University, McGill in Montreal and other schools come to mind.

It all boils down to three things, your grades and education background, your finances and how far your willing to go to school and your work ethic and your choice of program.

Post more info and i'll try to help you, I was going through hell trying to choose a school last year and im pretty happy with my choice. University is a great experience, but not for all people. Keep that in mind.

Ok basically. I look like Im a half-assed person, but Im REALLY wanting to get into a good school and do well for myself.

I got expelled back in 2005. Lost almost that whole year of school.
I basically have to take an extra year and Im finished.
This year in math, I started with an 87 and dropped to a 69 due to my sleeping problems and tend to sleep DURING class.
My english I started at a 88, and dropped to a 75, again due to the sleeping problem
But I DO my work outside of class as much as possible. And stay awake when I NEED to such as unit tests and shit.
I finished CHem with a 71% after started with a 52% I believe.
And for Drama I finished with a 71 because I just needed an arts credit

This semester Im doing Bio (which I sleep through, but stole a textbook so I could work at home, and Working and living with children, I sleep, but I get all the work done because its pretty simple), then I have fashion all afternoon, which I am gonna SMOKE through because Im good at it.

Next year Im going to work out my time-table to that I have math and English in the AFTERNOON because last year my mark in Math was an 80%, and mid-semester it was in the mid 60's.. so I picked up really well, and got 90's on my ISU and AT LEAST an 85 on my exam. And english I got an 80 as well.

So Im VERY capable of achieving 80's and possibly 90's.. as long as the classes are in the afternoon so that I can be awake and focused. So I want to get all my REALLY REQUIRED mark classes, in the afternoon. and try my best to do my morning classes outside of the classes. Because I cant stay awake. There's absolutely no way. Ive already tried coffee, energy drinks, etc etc.

But Im gonna try to upgrade to University classes, find a way to get university level classes so that I can get into Uni right away, and possibly get scholarship, because Im capable of it, its just the morning thing thats fucking me over. If not, Im thinking do the college thing, and then transferr into college.

Go to college and get your gen/ed credits done as well as fix your average
Lie to the doctor about having ADHD and get ritalin or adderal to stay awake and study

LMFAO My parents dont want me to become dependent on pills or anything. LOL
Neither do I, because I was gonna try sleeping pills, and caffeine pills. But Im scared to become like a sloppy lazy bitch without them. Which I almost am. lol

Oh well. I'll see what I get for my progress report and see how my "out of classroom" work is doing for me.
