Difference between Winter tires and All Season.

Okay, so I just bought all season tires for my car and a few people have been give me some slack about it. I was just wondering if there really is a huge difference them..

Not...A HUGE difference. You don't really need winter tires really...I mean we'll get what...4 or 5 snow storms this winter?

I have all seasons tires on my car...I just renew them every few years. Another reason is because I have nowhere to keep winter tires in the summer.

If you're a shitty driver...even winter tires won't help you.

Also...I drive a corolla...and that's front-wheel drive...so it's not like I'm in desperate need of 'grip'...it's pretty easy to drive a front wheel drive car.

So I guess it all depends. If you've got the extra money...and you think you need them...get them. Otherwise...just stick it out for 3 months.

Im not a horrible driver.. Like the only accident I was ever in was when an old lady backed into me while i was parked in a parking lot. Friggin Old people. But anyways.. Winter just makes driving all the more dangerous and I would hate to ever be involved in a big accident because I was too cheap to get better tires. I know that sounds a little exaggerated but whatever.

You can only tell the difference once you experience the two. Even the best all season's don't compare to winters. I wish Ontario would make them mandatory.

U just listened to Chuck, spitting PURE verbal diarrhea

The difference between winters and all seasons.. in the snow/sleet/ice

    is night and day.

they arent comparable in any way.

All season tires can be used year round, but shouldnt be used in the winter. when there isnt snow or ice on the ground, fuck, ur wheels can be relatively BALD and theres no real imminent danger, but not having winters ur so much more likely to lose control, slide into curbs, slide into intersections, rear end, and at worst lose control on the highway and do much more then just fuck up ur bumper.

ESPECIALLY if your car is light.

Driving an RSX last winter with no winters, i 360'd on the highway...

    Twice.

not.. fucking fun, so lucky i somewhat controlled it and didnt hit the divider.

All season Tires = No Season Tires

Like locke was saying, the difference is night and day. If you want to bang up your car and possibly injure yourself or other people then cool keep the all seasons. But if you actually want to get to where you want to go in one piece buy the right tires.

Get summer/performance tires for the spring/summer and Winter tires for the winter. In the long run you will save money compared to just buying all seasons. When you have the right tires, you will save money on fuel efficiently, tire life, and on repairs/hospital bills that you will avoid.

Yes there is a big difference between All Season Tires and Winter Tires. But it also does depend on the car.

If your car is more powerful like say a VS with more then average Torque then your tires will lose grip easier then say a 4cylinder Toyota Tercel.

But either way Winter Tires make a HUGE difference.

Next winter dont be cheap and buy some Winter Tires.

I didnt have any issue this winter without winter tires, in fact i found my car drove alot better than my mothers car and my mans car in the snow storms and they both had winter tires.
