Fitness Club?.
Soo..its now 2009 and usually I dont make new years resolutions, however last year kinda sucked for me so, this year I decieded to make a couple..1) to get a second job, 2) to pay all my bills completley off and 3) to join a gym.
I looked into extreme fitness and its crazzy expensive, so I checked Goodlife and it seems decent at 30$ a month?
What do you guys think is a do-able price range?..per month or year?
-
most likely youll have to sign a 1 year contract anyways, so whatevers easier.. if you can do per year it might be cheaper.. 30/month is about as cheap as it gets though only way i was getting cheaper was cause my friend worked in the gym.
-
Yeah thats what I figured.

Don't go to extreme. They rip people off left right and center.
$30 sounds like a very decent price. Make sure you look over a contract and don't forget that you always have 10 days to cancel any membership.

If you dont want to sign a contract you should check out the Y or any good rec centers in your area. Peel has some amazing classes and more than decent equipment and the prices are alot better. 30/month is definately as good as it gets with an actual gym though for sure.

YMCA. Not contract necessary.
But at the same time, a contract may be a good idea to force you into commitment. Paying 30 bucks a month for a whole year of gym membership with guilt trip you into actually making use of it.

If you're in college/uni, make use of your school gym considering your tuition is paying for it. It's much more convenient, if you ask me, making plans with some friends to head to the gym right before lecture.

School gyms are good to make use of, as Question said ... However, at my school, our tuition doesn't pay for it ... But I think it's only like 50 bucks for the whole Year or something like that ... Not sure. But it's dirt cheap, so even though tuition doesn't include it, it makes no difference ...

yeah good sugestions guys.. :)
I work full time but not in school, i work stupid hours though and I need to fill the time where im not doing anything ..plus I wanna look good for the summer :P
I thought about the Y but i like the thought of an actual gym

per month...the year thing is too much of a hassle to get out of. i'm at extreme fitness and i've heard complaints about how customers couldn't get out of it without getting screwed over...
although it's never happened to me and my contract has been up for some time now

Fitness clubs are good but results obtained from expensive gyms can also be achieved with little or no equipment through simple calisthenic exercises.
I am offering free personal training sessions so you can try it out and see if that works out for you. Hourly rate is only $11, let me know if you're interested.
Best of luck with your resolutions.

lol @ Irie, yeah, my boyfriend told me you guys have to get a membership.
And I feel bad for you Yorkies. 78 days and counting.
60% of our ta's @ uoft voted yes to a strike as well, but Mcguinty has already hinted that if any other schools pull a York, they'll be forced back to work.
-
Well, luckily for me my school just ordered brand new cardio equipment for our dual gym rooms...so we have a good range of both...only 30 bucks for the year, which is decent imo.
We just got a letter in the mail for a "free" year at extreme fitness...i'm suspect, so i'm not taking it. If you have problems committing to exercise, do the monthly...the money you're spending will haunt you into going, lol.

york's gym isn't all that great...still prefer extreme fitness over it.
