BC the Genius?? or simply overrated

now brian colangelo has done a great job this off season with the raptors, but like every season since BC has been hired...they have looked good on paper but failed to meet expectations time and time again..so i ask you...do you really consider a gm who has been with this franchise for a good 4yrs now a genius?? knowing we have yet to go pass the first round or even win a road game on the playoffs with him at the helm....yes this season we look good on paper but then again we have always looked good on paper...heres the breakdown

06-07 season:
47 wins
Atlantic Division Champs
3rd seed in the east
bounced out of the playoffs in the first round by a nets team making there last run
as an injury riddled RJ coming off of 2 ankle surgeries ran the floor like he was terrel owens out on the field...our great ford/jose combo were out played by an aging kidd who avgd a triple double against us...and well we all know about Vince Carter

07-08 season:
had lots of hype going into this season because of our so called depth...started the season somewhat strong but then showed our flaws as the season went on....finished with a 41-41 record and actually getting a matchup we desired and all wanted...our ford and jose duo was exposed yet again...bosh shut down by rashard lewis...a player who isnt know for stopping anybody on Defense and Howard basically avgd 20/20 on us all series long...most fans say howard was always camped in the lane but i beg to differ...detroit didnt allow that...we just dont play defense..ended getting bounced yet again in the first round

08-09 season:
yet another off season of hype due to the trading for jermaine oneal who only stayed for half a season...basically everything went wrong...didnt even make the playoffs and just had an ugly season of basketball


yes this is a brand new season with a brand new roster yet again but my point is that this team has alot to prove besides looking good on paper...each year the raptors have gotten worse, the east has gotten stronger...with teams like Orlando, Boston and Cleveland all making better moves...you still have a few teams which could possibly be better then the raps as well....Atlanta i still think is a few steps ahead of us...Miami could very well be ahead of us if they land boozer and d-wade has always killed us.....i just wonder how people can call BC a genius without even having success here..making the playoffs is good but if bc is considered a genius then grunwald was God because we came 1 shot short of the eastern conference finals

you could say his phoenix days showed his greatness as a gm but as i remember it was his father who had all the final say in any decisions he made.

Hasn't been 4 years yet, at least wait for the season to play out before we grade BC yet again.
