yo it obviously is art, look at Banksy, the writer from England, he does graffiti and his works of art have made him famous and very rich... Look at any mural done by Duro 3 or Globe yo dat shit is tight...Even my stufff is pretty good....:)

Graffiti doesn't have to be vandalism. There are a number of stores and such in the city that hire people to do graffiti murals, or at least allow people to do graffiti either on the outside of the building, or on the inside (such as in Numb).

Graffiti, like any kind of art, is appropriate in specific contexts. It might look pretty awesome in a rundown industrial area or on kitschy buildings along Queen Street, but it wouldn't really look right on someone's house. I'm one of those people who finds art in everything though. I consider computer programming a form of art. I suppose it's because I'm kind of a mediocre musician but a pretty good programmer, so I tend to express myself better through programming. It's really just about self exploration. It's hard to explain to someone if they've never felt compelled to "get it out," when you don't even know what "it" is. It's kind of like trying to tell someone how you felt God. You can't define art because it's an intangible human experience; what's art to you may not be art to the person beside you.

i remember going to quebec city, almost 3 years ago
and on the walls and stuff on the border of Ontario and Quebec
was AMAZING grafiti art
where yu can tell they took time and effort to draw the stuff..
and i think some grafitis on Trains are pretty sweet cool.
I respect it.
