I'm not sure. I mean I've always heard people say, "If you can use a fork you can get into York", or something to that effect. But I don't know much about York so I couldn't tell you why.
its the students' work ethic that counts MOSTLY. Stop blaming the schools.

Every school has certain programs that set them apart. From what I understand the teaching program at York is quite good, as well as, obviously, the business program at Schulich.
Every school has programs that are pointless to go there for. At Laurier, coming here for any type of engineering program means you got pwned. The engineering schools are pretty much Mac, Waterloo and UofT.
Coming into my own.. watch out.
All depends on your field and your work ethic, anyone failing in schulich in first year will sling mud.
I think York's poor reputation comes from the fact that it is so damn easy to get into most programs there. The only exceptions are Schulich, Osgoode, and some of those exclusive fine arts programs. I'm sure you could get in there with a 69% average, which I think is an embarassment.
Depending on the program, that is. I knew a few individuals in my graduating class in high school who got into York with high 60/low 70 averages, but that was for the Arts. For other programs, it's not going to be the same case.
At U of T, the cut off was in the mid 70's (74-76) for Arts, which isn't that great either.
Like Ah-lee-she said, it's certain programs that set schools apart. But any school you go to, you're going to notice people putting other schools down.. just for shits and giggles.
Chuck secretly loves York
yes she does
only gonna get get what you give away
That's why I got accepted into York with my horrible average. I got into sociology.
